LAHORE: Former champions Quetta Gladiators have provided significant information on pacer Ahmed Daniel ahead of their next match in Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11.

The Gladiators will face Rawalpindis at the National Bank Stadium on April 10.

In a statement released by the Gladiators management, it was confirmed that Daniel, who suffered an injury during the Lahore leg, has been advised by doctors to take complete rest for a week.

“Quetta Gladiators’ fast bowler Ahmed Dani was unable to complete the match in Lahore due to a thigh injury and has been advised by the doctor to rest for a week,” the statement said.

The right-arm fast bowler was injured during the match against Multan Sultans at Gaddafi Stadium earlier on Sunday and was taken to the hospital.

Daniel had to be taken off the field on the final delivery of the Gladiators innings. The bowling all-rounder slipped while trying to complete the third run and hurt himself in the process.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the 28-year-old has injured his right hamstring and has been rushed to a nearby hospital.

Despite the setback, Daniel has performed well for his team in the current tournament, picking up five wickets in four matches. His figures included 3 for 36 against Karachi Kings and 2 for 13 against Hyderabad Kingsmen.

For the uninitiated, South Shakeel’s Gladiators are currently sitting sixth on the PSL points table with 11 points, with one win and three losses from four matches. They have two points and a net run rate of -0.223.
