LAHORE: Three-time champions Islamabad United won the toss and elected to field first against debutants Rawalpindi in the 12th match of the 11th series of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.

The upcoming match marks the first meeting between United and Rawalpindis, the latter featuring in their PSL debut.

United and Bindis, three-time champions fresh off an eight-wicket win over the previous edition’s runners-up Quetta Gladiators, entered the match with mixed momentum as the new rivals came off two losing matches.

United got off to a lackluster start to their PSL 11 campaign as they suffered a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Multan Sultans, while their next match against Peshawar Zalmi was washed out by rain.

On the other hand, Bindis, Zalmi and Chiefs lost their first two matches against Karachi Kings by five wickets respectively and are yet to taste victory in the PSL.
