LAHORE: Gul Beroza’s fluent 43 and a combined bowling effort helped the Invincibles to a resounding 30-run win over the Challengers in the fourth match of the National Women’s T20 at the Ghani Glass Cricket Ground on Monday.

Invincibles skipper Muneefa Ali’s decision to bat first paid off as her side posted 168/5 in 20 overs.

Their leading opener, Gul Berosa, smashed 43 off 24 balls, along with 7 fours, sharing the honors with Maham Anees, who took 38 balls and hit 3 fours and 2 sixes.

For his spirited performance, Feroza was adjudged the man of the match.

Middle order batsman Iram Javed scored 35 runs off 25 balls with 3 fours and a six.

For the Challengers, Neelam Mushtaq and captain Diana Baig took 2 wickets each and Arija Haseeb took one wicket.

Chasing a tough target of 169, the Challengers managed to post 138/8 in their 20 overs despite a brilliant cameo from Natalia Pervaiz in the middle.

Pervaiz scored 31 runs off 17 balls with the help of 4 fours and a six as the scoreboard read 53/2.

He shared a 27-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Arija, who scored an unbeaten 37 off one ball with four fours.

Momina Riyasad and Noreen Yaqoob took two wickets each while Syeda Arup Shah and Amber Kainat took one wicket each.

The 30-run victory marked the Invisibles’ second in as many matches, lifting them to the top of the National Women’s T20 standings with four points, while the Challengers are yet to taste victory, suffering a defeat at the hands of Stars in the curtain raiser as well.
