LAHORE: Former champions Islamabad United have made another late addition to the squad ahead of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League scheduled to be held from March 26 to May 3.
The franchise confirmed the signing of young right-handed batsman Mohsin Riaz from Sheikhupura through their official social media channels.
“Islamabad United is excited to welcome Mohsin Riaz to the ISLU family,” the post read.
Earlier, three-time champion Australia’s Max Bryant had announced that compatriot Chris Green would be replaced in the upcoming edition of the tournament.
According to the franchise, Bryant—signed for Rs19.5 million in last month’s player draft—was sidelined with an injury, forcing a late substitution ahead of the eight-team tournament. As a result, Green was brought in for Rs14 million before the tournament.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old played eight matches in domestic T20 cricket and scored 106 runs at a strike rate of 137.66.
Representing Sialkot region in the recently concluded National T20 Cup, he scored 61 runs at a strike rate of 135.55 in four matches.
Notably, United are set to open their PSL 11 campaign against Multan Sultans at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.
The historic 11th edition of the league will for the first time feature eight teams, including new entrants Rawalpindis and Hyderabad Kingsmen, competing in 44 matches over the 39-day event.
Islamabad United squad updated for PSL 11:
Shatab Khan (catch), Salman Irshad, Andries Ghose, Devon Conway, Faheem Ashraf, Mehran Mumtaz, Chris Green, Mark Chapman, Nisar Ahmed, Mir Hamza Sajjad, Sameen Gul, Sameer Minhas, Imad Wasim, Richard Gleeson, Mohammad Gleeson, Mohammad Asli Faiq, Mohsin Riaz and Mohammad Salman Mirza.
