PESHAWAR: Lahore Whites and Karachi Whites were confirmed as the first two teams to qualify for the semi-finals of the National T20 Cup 2026 as persistent rain washed out both the scheduled matches on Sunday.
The much-anticipated Group A clash between Lahore and Karachi Whites was hampered by rain at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium.
As a toss was not possible, the match was abandoned, resulting in a single point for each team. These crucial points put both the teams in the knockout stage.
Karachi Whites finished in Group A with six points from four games, boasting a net run rate of 1.457 following two wins.
They are joined by Lahore Whites, who have picked up five points from their campaign, which includes two wins and a loss with the match being dropped, with a net run rate of 0.674.
The second match between Bahawalpur and Peshawar met a similar fate, ending without a ball being bowled.
Bahawalpur ended their group stage campaign with just one win, while Peshawar finished with one win.
With Group A now concluded, attention turns to the final round of Group B matches on Monday.
In the first match of the scheduled double-header, Abbottabad Zone will face Lahore Zone Blues, while Sialkot will face Multan.
The winners of these encounters will claim the remaining two semi-final spots, joining Lahore and Karachi Whites in the final four.
The first and second semi-finals are scheduled to be played at the same Peshawar stadium on Tuesday.
