KARACHI: 2017 champions Peshawar Zalmi on Saturday announced the direct signing of captain Farhan Yousuf for the much-anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) Under-11-19 men’s cricket team scheduled to be held from March 26 to May 3.
Yusuf, who led Pakistan to their second ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup title with a 191-run win over arch-rivals India in last year’s final, was one of the notable national cricketers not sold in last month’s historic PSL players’ draft.
The middle-order batsman, however, got a late call-up to the marquee league as he was joined by Zalmi.
The signing of Yusuf, who has played six T20Is so far, has scored 122 runs at an average of 61 and a remarkable strike rate of 196.77 with the help of a half-century.
