PESHAWAR: Half-centuries from Abdullah Shafiq and Hasan Nawaz helped skipper Usama Mir to a four-wicket haul as Sialkot cruised to a 31-run win over Abbottabad in the 15th match of the National T20 Cup 2026 at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Abbottabad skipper Khalid Usman’s decision came first as the former champions amassed a mammoth total of 202/6 in 20 overs, courtesy of a formidable third-wicket partnership between Abdullah and Hasan.
Sialkot had a contrasting start to their innings as Shahab Khan dismissed both their openers Mirza Tahir Baig (six) and Khawaja Arham (17) to reduce them to 25/2.
Following an early setback, Abdullah joined Hasan in the middle and the duo put on 145 runs for the third wicket to put Sialkot in a commanding position.
Abdullah scored 96 off 54 balls with 7 sixes and 4 fours while Hasan scored 57 off 34 balls with 9 fours including 3 sixes.
Shahab was Abbottabad’s best bowler as he took 5 wickets conceding only 25 runs in his four overs, with Shadab Khan scalping him.
Chasing a tough target of 203 runs, Abbottabad’s batting unit managed to score 171 runs in 20 overs.
Wicketkeeper batsman Sajjad Ali Hashmi scored a cautious 40 off 37 balls for Abbottabad, while Atizaz Khan and Razaullah scored other notable runs of 28 and 25 respectively.
Usama led Sialkot’s bowling forward with 4 for 42 from his four overs, while Ahsan Hafeez Bhatti, Mohammad Ali and Shoaib Akhtar Jr claimed two wickets each.
It was Sialkot’s second win of the 2026 National T20 Cup by 31 runs, while their last group game is against Multan at the same venue on Monday.
