Johannesburg: All-rounder Ethan Bosh has been ruled out of the five-match series against New Zealand due to injury, Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed on Saturday.

Bosch, who represented the Proteas in one ODI, suffered a hamstring injury that denied him a possible T20I debut in the upcoming series, scheduled to be held from March 15 to 25.

The 27-year-old has been replaced by fellow all-rounder Vian Mulder in the South African squad, CSA added.

“Ethan Bosh has been ruled out of the five-match T20 International (T20I) series against New Zealand due to a hamstring injury,” the CSA said in a statement.

“Proteas men’s all-rounder Vian Mulder has replaced him in the squad,” it added.

The CSA further confirmed that the team will leave for New Zealand on Sunday, while the rest of their members and support staff who are currently stranded in India due to the closure of the region’s airspace will travel to the country on the same day, their travel arrangements currently being finalized in consultation with the International Cricket Council (ICC).

“The team will depart for New Zealand from OR Tambo International Airport on Sunday March 8, while members of the team and management currently in Kolkata will fly directly to New Zealand on the same day,” CSA said.

Travel arrangements for members of the T20 World Cup squad to return to South Africa are currently being finalized in consultation with the International Cricket Council (ICC). Further details will be communicated in due course.”
