Mirpur: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the 15-man squad for the three-match home ODI series against Pakistan from March 11 to 15.
Experienced wicket-keeper batsman Liton Das returns to the squad along with all-rounder Afid Hossain, while the pace duo of Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam are also out along with Noorul Hasan, Jackar Ali, Shamim Hossain, Hasan Mahmood, Tanseem Hasan and Nasum Ahmed.
Afif last played an ODI for Bangladesh in December 2024, while Das made his first appearance in this format in July 2025, and he missed their three-match home series against the West Indies in October last year.
Das has recorded eight single-digit scores in ODIs since December 2023, but Bangladesh chief selector Kazi Ashraf Hossain is confident that his experience will lend itself to the home team.
“Litton Das may not have been at his best in recent ODIs, but you can’t overlook the experience of nearly a hundred internationals in this format,” Ashraf said.
“He has been working closely with the coaches on his game. We hope he will be back to his best form soon. We see him as an option to strengthen the middle order. Soumya Sarkar, meanwhile, is in good form internationally,” he added.
Notably, the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team will arrive here on March 9 and the three matches are scheduled to be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on March 11, 13 and 15 respectively.
