KARACHI: Most of the Pakistan team, including captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, took part in the opening day of the two-day training session at the Hanib Mohammad Cricket Academy on Friday.

According to details, the national cricketers started the practice session with warm up, after which they engaged in fielding practice.

The green shirts then took part in batting and bowling practice in the net sessions.

On the opening day of training, the Pakistan squad consisted of 11 players, with Abdul Samad, Mas Sadaq, Shamil Hussain and Saad Masood set to join the camp on the second and final day.

It is to be noted that the national team is scheduled to leave for Mirpur, Dhaka on March 8 and the next day a training session will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, which will host the three matches on March 11, 13 and 15 respectively.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Wednesday that the foreign coaches of the national team will join the team directly in Dhaka.

Pakistan last played an ODI series in November last year when they hosted Sri Lanka and won 3-0.

The series marked captain Shaheen Shah Afridi’s second ODI assignment, his first in charge coming in the home series against South Africa, which Pakistan won 2–1.

Historically, Pakistan and Bangladesh have faced each other in 39 ODIs. In this, Green Shirts have won 34 times and Bengal Tigers five times.

Shaheen Shah Afridi (c), Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, Hussain Talat, Maz Sadaq, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Wasim Jr., Mohammad Qazi Ghori (wk), Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farshan, and Sahibzada Farshan.
