Colombo: The Pakistan men’s cricket team on Friday engaged in intensive training ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against arch-rivals India at the R Premadasa Stadium here on Sunday.

According to details, the national cricketers took part in a three-hour training session at the aforementioned venue to suit the conditions.

During the rigorous session, the Green Shirts took part in batting, bowling and fielding drills under the supervision of the coaching staff.

Also, specialist batsmen and bowlers were tasked with meeting different targets set by coaches during situation-based training.

It is pertinent to mention that the upcoming match is of great importance for both the teams as a win will ensure the qualification of the top two from the four groups starting on February 21st for the Super Eight round.

Currently, Pakistan are second in the Group A standings of the T20 World Cup 2026 with four points from two matches, behind India, despite having many points after many games, but are edged out due to their superior net run rate.

Salman Ali Agha (c), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Faqar Zaman, Khawaja Nafe, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shatab Khan, Usman Khan and Usman Khan.
