KARACHI: Former Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions Peshawar Zalmi on Friday announced the inclusion of right-arm national pacer Shahnawaz Dahani in their squad for the upcoming 11th edition of the tournament scheduled to be held from March 26 to May 3.
The franchise made the announcement through its official social media handles by sharing an animated poster of Tahani, who has represented Pakistan in two ODIs and 11 T20Is.
“New pace, right-hand variety and plenty of promise. (Shahnawaz Dahani) is set to electrify (the Yellow Storm) with his signature celebration. Welcome to your new home,” Salmi captioned the banner.
Notably, Zalmi did not announce the amount they signed Tahani, who went unsold despite a base price of Rs 11 million in the PSL’s first player auction.
The 2017 champions, who retained Babar Azam, Sufyan Mukeem, Abdul Samad and Ali Raza in the Platinum, Silver, Gold and Emerging categories respectively, strengthened their squad by adding 10 cricketers including James Vince, Michael Bracewell and Gusal Bracewell in the auction.
Despite including 10 players in the bid, Zalmi had enough resources to include Dahani, who has taken 39 wickets at a remarkable average of 20.84 in four PSL seasons since being renamed Rawalpindi.
