MUMBAI: Italy secured their first win in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday by beating Nepal by 10 wickets.

Chasing a modest target of 124, Italy cruised to victory without the loss of a wicket in just 12.4 overs thanks to a dominant opening partnership of Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca.

The duo put on an unbeaten 124 to ensure victory.

Anthony Mosca scored 62 off 32 balls with 3 fours and 6 sixes, Justin Mosca remained unbeaten on 60 off 44 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes.

Earlier, Nepal were bowled out for 123 runs in 19.3 overs following some excellent bowling by Italy.

Arif Shaikh top scored with 27 runs off 24 balls with 3 fours while captain Rohit Bowdal scored 23 runs off 14 balls including 2 sixes.

Asif Sheikh scored 20 off one ball with two fours and Karan KC remained unbeaten on 18 off 11 balls with one four and a six.

Opener Kushal Purdel fell to Ali Hasan for 5 off 10 balls. Dipendra Singh Airey scored 17 runs to dismiss Krishan Kalugamage, Lokesh Bam and Gulshan Jha scored 3 runs each.

Nandan Yadav was dismissed, Sandeep Lamichane scored 5 runs and Lalit Rajbanshi was run out.

Krishan Kalugamage was brilliant for Italy with 3/18 from his four overs.

Ben Manenti took two wickets and Ali Hasan, JJ Smuts and Jaspreet Singh one each to complete a clinical all-round performance.
