
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the Pakistan Women’s ‘A’ squad for the ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from February 13 to 22.
In the eight-team T20 tournament, Pakistan ‘A’ will face India ‘A’, UAE and Nepal in Group A. Group B consists of Bangladesh ‘A’, Sri Lanka ‘A’, Malaysia and Thailand.
Each team will play three group matches, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
Off-spinning all-rounder Umm-e-Hani will lead the 15-member Pakistan Women’s ‘A’ team, backed by experienced campaigners including pacer Waheeda Akhtar and pacer Shawal Zulfikar.
Bangladesh U19 Women’s recent 3-2 T20 series win against Pakistan U19 Women saw Pakistan Women U-19 captain Eman Naseer and batsman Komal Khan also call up the ‘A’ team.
The batting line-up consists of Gul Rukh, Hafsa Khalid and Huraina Sajjad, while Yuzra Amir will handle the wicket-keeping duties.
The spin department features left-arm spinners Anosha Naseer and Momina Riyasad, who along with Umm-e-Hani and all-rounder Noreen Yaqoob form a strong four-pronged spin attack.
Waheeda Akhtar, Lubna Behram, Neha Sharmin Nadeem and Syeda Masooma Jaffrey will lead the fast bowling department.
Of the eight teams participating in the tournament, UAE, Nepal, Malaysia and Thailand will field their national women’s teams, while the remaining four teams will compete with their respective ‘A’ teams.
Ahead of the announcement, 30 players were invited for a week-long prospect camp at the Hanif Mohammed High Performance Center from January 25.
Following the camp, the final 15-man squad was selected. The selected players will participate in a pre-tournament training camp at the same venue before leaving for Thailand on February 10.
