LAHORE: Several former and current Pakistani cricketers have reportedly been implicated in cheating cases, though none have registered a formal complaint on any platform, sources told Geo News on Friday.

Sources indicate that the cricketers have not approached the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to seek help in resolving the issue.

Following the example of a former captain, they invested with a businessman who promised unusually high returns. Among those involved are former and current national captains.

Some cricketers are said to have invested directly in the businessman. Initially, they made a substantial profit, but the individual later disappeared, leaving the investors unable to recover their full amount.

For weeks, some cricketers have been trying to get their money back, with a few reportedly getting partial refunds. A popular agent representing cricketers is also believed to have lost money in the scheme.

The US-based accused, who had personal connections with several Pakistani cricketers, could not be reached as his phone has now been switched off.

The individual has been paying unusually high monthly income, but these payments have reportedly not been received for the past two months.

The cricketers are eager to get back their major investments, but the person behind the scam is currently unable to be contacted.
