LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced the 16-member squad for the three-match T20I series against Australia at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Tournaments will be held on January 29th and 31st and February 1st, with all games starting at 4:00pm PST.

Former skipper Babar Azam and pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi have returned to the T20I squad after Pakistan lost the three-match series in Sri Lanka earlier this month, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Shadab Khan will continue his comeback momentum and is set to lead a strong spin unit with Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Tariq.

The team and supporting staff will gather in Lahore on Saturday, with preparations for the series starting the following day.

Australia is set to visit Pakistan on January 28, marking the second T20I series on Pakistani soil after the solitary match at the Gaddafi Stadium in April 2022.

The series will be an important preparation for both the sides ahead of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup scheduled in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.

Pakistan will compete with India, USA, Netherlands and Namibia in Group A and Australia will compete with Sri Lanka, Ireland, Zimbabwe and Oman in Group B.

Historically, Pakistan and Australia have faced each other 28 times in T20Is. Australia have won 14 matches and Pakistan 12, with one tie and one draw.
