
Mirpur: Binura Fernando’s four wickets led Rajshahi Warriors to a 12-run win over Sylhet Titans in Qualifier 2 of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Wednesday.
The win takes the Warriors into the finals where they will face Chattogram Royals at the same venue on Friday.
Batting first in a high-stakes match, Warriors posted 165/9 in their 20 overs, aided by their combined effort.
New Zealander Kane Williamson scored an unbeaten 45 off 38 balls with a four and 2 sixes, followed by his compatriot James Neesham’s 44.
Apart from the Blackcaps pair, openers Tanzid Hasan (32) and Sahibzada Farhan (26) contributed significantly to the Warriors’ total.
Among the bowlers for the Titans, Salman Irshad took 3 wickets for just 23 runs in his four overs, followed by Nasum Ahmed and Mehidi Hasan Miraz with 2 wickets each and Chris Woakes with one.
Chasing 166, the Titans managed to post 153/8 in 20 overs thanks to opener Pervez Hossain Emon’s superb performance.
Emman was the top scorer with a blistering 48 off 34 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. He shared a 69-run partnership for the second wicket with Sam Billings, who contributed 37 runs off 28 balls.
Apart from them, only Afif Hossain (21) and Woakes (15) managed to score double figures not out against the Fernando-led Warriors’ bowling attack.
Fernando returned a sensational bowling figure of 4/19 from his four overs, while Tanzim Hasan Saqib, MD Rubel and Abdul Ghaffar Saqlain chipped in with a scalp each.
