India have named Shreyas Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi in their T20I squad for the T20I series against New Zealand.

Shreyas Iyer will replace Tilak Verma in the first three T20Is on January 21, 23 and 25, while Ravi Bishnoi will replace Washington Sundar.

Thilak Verma is expected to miss only the first three matches, while Washington Sundar will be sidelined for the entire five-match series.

The all-rounder has been advised to rest for a few days before reporting to the BCCI’s Special Center in Bangalore for further administration.

The withdrawals come shortly after the end of the men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, which ended less than a month ago.

Shreyas Iyer returns to the T20 team for the first time since December 2023, when he last played against Australia in Bengaluru.

The middle-order batsman scored 604 runs at a strike rate of 175.07 in the IPL 2025 season to lead Punjab Kings to the final.

Meanwhile, Ravi Bishnoi last represented India in T20Is against England in January 2025. The leg-spinner has played 42 T20 matches till date and has taken 61 wickets.
