DUBAI: Star batsman Babar Azam and captain Shaun Masood have improved their positions in the latest ICC Test rankings, while other players have seen changes, including some declines.

In the batting rankings, middle-order batsman South Shakeel remains at the 9th position with 734 points.

Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is at the 21st position, while Babar has moved up one place to the 22nd position with 656 points. All-rounder Salman Ali Agha has slipped one place to 28th.

Pakistan’s Test captain Masood has moved up two places to 42nd with 576 points. Opener Imam-ul-Haq improved his position to 51st, Abdullah Shafiq slipped one place to 57th and Kamran Ghulam 85th.

Meanwhile, Amir Jamal and Saim Ayub moved up one place each to share the 94th position with 345 points.

England’s Joe Root and Harry Brook continue to lead the rankings, with Root at number one and Brook at number two. Australia’s Travis Head rounded out the top three, sitting third.

In the bowling rankings, left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Afridi is ranked 24th.

Fast bowler Mohammad Abbas and spinner Sajid Khan have slipped one place each to 29th and 30th respectively. Naseem Shah remains at the 38th position and Hasan Ali has moved up one place to the 43rd position with 480 points.

Off-spinner Abrar Ahmed slipped one place to 51st, fast bowler Khurram Shahzad at 70th, Amir Jamal at 78th and Asif Afridi at 96th with 224 points.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah tops the list of Test bowlers, Pakistan spinner Noman Ali is second and Australia’s Mitchell Starc is third.
